President Donald Trump recently appeared on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle with Laura Ingraham. In a surprising twist, Trump offered a rare compliment to his political rival, former President Joe Biden.
Ingraham asked Trump, 78, what he does when he wakes up and can’t fall back asleep, given his late-night social media posts. Trump admitted he struggles to doze off, unlike Biden, who he said falls asleep fast—especially on beach vacations.
“He’d go to the beach, lie on a cot, barely drag his feet through the sand, and minutes later, he’s out like a light,” Trump said, calling it “the only thing I totally admired about sleepy Joe Biden.” Though a playful jab, Trump seemed genuinely impressed. “I could never do that,” he confessed.
“It’s about the only thing I think was wonderful about him.” The praise was short-lived, though. Trump soon labeled Biden a “disaster” and criticized the current administration, while shrugging off his own minimal sleep. “A lot of people who love what they do don’t sleep much,” he said.
Trump’s then-physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, confirmed he thrived on four to five hours of sleep during his presidency.
His early morning and late-night social media posts became legendary. Meanwhile, Biden was often spotted relaxing at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, lounging by the waves with family.
Trump mocked these getaways in 2023 at an Iowa rally, joking, “He spends so much time at the beach. I have a much better body than him, but I’m not sure I want to expose it.”
