Jeremy Lamb, who first came to Sacramento in 2022 as part of the Domantas Sabonis deal, rose to prominence in the organization—not because of his on-court accomplishments but rather because of his friendship with Anjali Ranadive, the daughter of Kings owner Vivek Ranadive.
Perhaps more than anybody could have predicted, Jeremy Lamb has an unanticipated impact on the Sacramento Kings front office dynamics. He has contributed to significant organizational instability, resulting in De’Aaron Fox’s departure and internal strife.
“What is the vision here? It feels like it could be headed toward chaos. We’re all going to be working for Jeremy Lamb soon enough,” one Kings employee mockingly told The Athletic.
After moving into a front-office position, Anjali was promoted to general manager in May 2023 after first serving as assistant general manager of the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s G-League franchise, in 2022. Lamb played on the squad throughout her time there, and in October 2023, their romance was made public.
But scandal clouded her time as general manager. Chance Comanche, one of Stockton’s players, was detained and then charged with murder in connection with an alleged incident that occurred during a team road trip in Las Vegas. Anjali resigned from her position less than a month later, citing academic and personal obligations.
Jeremy Lamb’s Romance Is Reportedly Creating Chaos In Kings’ Front Office
Fox no longer believed in the team’s stability after declining several max contracts from the Kings in previous months. According to reports, he informed interim head coach Doug Christie that if the front office kept acting dysfunctionally, he did not see a future in Sacramento. The Kings’ tenure ended when Fox was dealt to the San Antonio Spurs shortly after.
