A woman covered in blood who identified herself as the wife of Renee Nicole Good blamed herself for her partner’s death following a fatal encounter with ICE agents, according to video recorded at the scene. The video shows the woman crying near Good’s damaged vehicle in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning as a neighbor who heard the disturbance asked what had occurred.
“I made her come down here, it’s my fault,” the woman said through sobs. “They just shot my wife…. They shot her in the head. I have a 6-year-old in school.”
Authorities said an ICE agent who was struck by Good’s vehicle fired three shots at close range, killing the 37-year-old mother. The vehicle then continued down the block before crashing, officials said.
The Department of Homeland Security described Good as a “domestic terrorist” and accused her of attempting to kill the agent, asserting that the shooting was an act of self-defense.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said Wednesday that Good had been part of a group of protesters who had been “stalking and impeding” ICE agents throughout the day and alleged that she used her vehicle as a weapon.
The woman who said she was Good’s wife appeared in multiple video clips before and after the deadly encounter:

Video from the scene shows Good’s wife closely following federal agents and recording them shortly before the shooting. She was standing near the vehicle when shots were fired and appeared initially unaware of what had occurred until the car sped away and crashed.
Photographs taken afterward show her running toward the vehicle and attempting to render aid to Good as she lay bleeding in the driver’s seat.
Good described herself on social media as a “wife and mom.” She also called herself a “poet and writer” and a “sh–ty guitar strummer from Colorado; experiencing Minneapolis.”
Speaking at a news conference, Noem said ICE officers repeatedly ordered the woman to exit her vehicle and stop obstructing law enforcement, as seen in multiple video clips.
She refused to comply, Noem said, adding that the Department of Homeland Security is treating the incident as an act of domestic terrorism.
Video from the scene shows Good’s car stopped in the middle of a residential street as ICE agents exited a dark gray Nissan Titan and approached her Honda Pilot. In the video, agents can be heard instructing her to get out of the vehicle. Good can be heard telling agents to “Go around.”
Moments later she appeared to ‘gun’ her engine and move forward. Video appears to show her vehicle striking the agent who then fired at her.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey stated that Good was shot in the head and strongly dismissed the agency’s claims of self-defense, calling them “bull****.”
“I have a message for ICE. To ICE: Get the f*** out of Minneapolis,” Frey said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. “We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite.
“People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. Long-term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city, to our culture, to our economy are being terrorized. Now, somebody is dead. That’s on you, and it’s also on you to leave. It’s on you to make sure that further damage, further loss of life and injury is not done,” he further claimed.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz mentioned that he had reviewed the video and urged the public not to believe what he referred to as the DHS’s “propaganda machine” regarding the shooting.
“The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice,” Walz said.
