Migdale Castle, completed in 1927, was originally designed for Margaret “Midge” Carnegie, who was the only child of Andrew Carnegie.

The estate’s name reflects her nickname.

Although she inherited a substantial fortune after her father’s death in 1919, Midge chose a more modest lifestyle, marrying Roswell Miller and raising four children at Migdale until their divorce in 1953.

Following the split, Roswell retained ownership and lived in the castle until his death in 1983, while Midge moved to Connecticut until her passing in 1990.

After years of neglect, art dealer Guy Wildenstein and his wife Kristina Hansson purchased Migdale Castle in 2000 for $5.3 million, investing approximately $20 million in renovations to restore the estate to its former grandeur.
